In a conference, more than 100 women from 17 countries agreed on this suggestion and International Women’s Day was established, at this time its main objective was to get women the right to vote. For the first time in 1911, March 19, international women’s day was celebrated in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. It was transferred to March 8, 1913 and since then it is celebrated every year on this day. United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day for the first time in 1975
